Located in Surrey, Thursley Common is a Haven of Wildlife, which changes throughout the seasons. Early Spring is great for winter thrushes before they head back to their breeding grounds as well as our resident birds who are becoming more active with the start of breeding season. One of the reasons this is dear to us here at GG Wildlife Walks is due to it being a great habitat for Dragonflies.... and hence, Hobby's who arrive mid May.
Another reason is the chance to see Colin the famous Cuckoo, if we are lucky, who has been returning to the site mid March for many years, and is quite famous across Social Media.
Celebrities like Colin aside, there is an array of other birdlife to see - from Curlew, Stonechat, Redstart, Reed Bunting, Dartford Warbler and Tree Pipit can all be found here together with Lizards, Snakes and Dragonflies.
The location of the Barnett Hill in Surrey is surrounded by a variety of wildlife habitats. Alongside the ground explorations and photography I offer, I am delighted to be starting a walk of the surrounding area.
The area is truly magical and diverse, from the dense pine forest to open areas providing a variety of habitats where an array of birds and mammals can be found!
I am delighted to be in partnership with Great Fosters Hotel, offering a selection of wildlife walks for individuals, adults or families in the grounds of the Hotel.
Unlike other hotels, the stunning grounds of this hotel is like a nature reserve in itself, with a variety of habitats attracting different kinds of wildlife, all living together in harmony!
