Lower Basildon, Berkshire

Waterfront Spotting Loop

Approx 2hrs

The start of the walk heads down to a small willow tree plantation, where we see resident Roe deer, Muntjac and Rabbits... and if we are lucky, one of the gorgeous foxes seen here regularly basking in the sunshine.

Pheasants run across our paths whilst wrens, robins, Chiffhaff, Blackcap and Goldfinches all sing from the bushes and treetops. We then head across onto a private island on a section of The Thames, where we have encountered Kingfishers, Mink, Heron and Woodpeckers.

This is a much shorter route and much more suited to those who prefer a leisurely spotting exercise or the chance to take time to get some nice photos.
