We have exclusive use of the Kingfisher hide within the grounds of The Swan Hotel, Streatley adjacent to The River Thames. The hide has been specifically designed for photographing Kingfishers and nestled into the environment taking advantage of a well established natural fishing spot.  It accommodates 4 photographers comfortably and allows for a 2 camera setup per person. Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult.

KINGFISHER HIDE EXPERIENCE ITENARY

Upon your arrival at the meeting point Steve will point out all the on-site facilities, then Head over to the hide and get setup where Steve will brief you fully and ensure you are comfortable and ready to start taking photographs.

In addition: Steve will be running his very popular guided Kingfisher Spotting walk along The Thames starting 2hrs before the hide session (normally £35pp but free to those booked in the hide) - Upon booking please indicate if you will be attending this and a separate confirmation will be sent to you.

STANDARD SESSIONS

Regularly scheduled throughout the year with at least 6 dates per month available to choose from. Additional dates available upon request.  DURATION:  Varies through the year, please see individual start times for each date. End time 4pm all year

PRIVATE SESSIONS

Recommended Lenses:

Focal lengths between 300mm & 600mm are ideal, the main perches outside the hide are 4-6m away. If you have a crop sensor camera remember to take that into account with lens selection.

Facilities in the Hide: 

Comfortable office style chairs, Hide plates, Gimbal heads, Binoculars, Coat & bag hooks, Blankets & Tea & Coffee making facilities.

• Not available: Mains power or Heating, so don't forget suitable clothing & plenty of batteries.

Free Parking, Toilets, Cafe, Restaurant and Hotel - all within 100m of the hide.

Mallard Duck, Mute Swan, Moorhen, Water Rail, Grey Wagtail, Great-spotted Woodpecker, Goldcrest, Treecreeper, Nuthatch, Cetti's Warbler, Chiffchaff, Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk, Little Grebe, Pheasant, Little Egret, Muntjac Deer, Water Vole, Thrushes, various Tits and Finches.
